Today, I want to welcome Drs. Eddie and Jared Bumpers to the podcast. Eddie serves as Senior Pastor at Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. He has served in this role since 2000. Jared Bumpers, Eddie's son, serves here at Midwestern Seminary as Assistant Professor of Preaching and Evangelism. Jared also directs the FTC Cohorts and is Associate Pastor at Fellowship KC.

This week I am delighted to welcome Jonathan Leeman to the podcast. Dr. Leeman serves as the Editorial Director for 9Marks. He is an accomplished writer having recently co-authored a book with Collin Hansen titled: Rediscover Church: Why the Body of Christ is Essentia, and Church Membership: How the World Knows Who Represents Jesus, and many others.

Today, Dr. Sam Bierig joins us back in the studio as we discuss his dissertation on the book of Proverbs. Sam serves as Vice President of Undergraduate Studies, Dean of Spurgeon College, and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Spurgeon College. He recently released his own book entitled, No Neutral Words: The Pastor’s Investment and Stewardship of His Most Precious and Powerful Tool.

He is on the campus of Midwestern Seminary this week for our annual 9Marks Conference with this year’s theme of evangelism.

Today, I want to welcome back Dr. Mitchell Chase to the podcast. Mitchell is the Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He has written several books in the areas of biblical studies, hermeneutics, and discipleship. And he also serves as the preaching pastor at Kosmosdale Baptist Church since 2012.

This week on Preaching and Preachers, Nate Pickowicz joins me in a discussion on pastoring in New England. Nate serves as the pastor of Harvest Bible Church in Gilmanton Iron Works, New Hampshire. He is also the author of Reviving New England: The Key to Revitalizing Post-Christian America and Why We’re Protestant: An Introduction to the Five Solas of the Reformation.

We had the privilege of having Dr. Derek W. H. Thomas on campus to deliver our ninth annual Spurgeon Lectures. In a time of increasing pastoral cynicism and pastoral burnout, it was particularly encouraging to hear Dr. Thomas speak of the glorious reality that it is to preach God’s word and to pastor God’s people. Dr. Thomas is the Chancellor's Professor of Systematic and Pastoral Theology at Reformed theological Seminary. He is also the Senior Minister at First Presbyterian Church Columbia, South Carolina.
